DHA and how to use Udo`s Oil Blend

What is DHA?

Docosahexaenoic acid, or DHA, is a long-chain omega-3 fatty acid that is a primary structural component of the human brain, cerebral cortex, skin, and retina. It is one of the two fatty acids that are essential for health (omega-6 is the other) and therefore must be acquired through the diet or supplements.

The safest and most sustainable source of DHA is algae (where the fish get it from), which is why we choose to use that specific plant-based source of DHA for our Udo’s Oil DHA 3·6·9 Blend. We believe it is, all-around, the most health-supporting form of DHA. DHA Udo`s Oil Blend is unique product which you will not find anywhere else on the market today.

How do I use Udo’s Oil® 3·6·9 Blend for maximum benefit?

For best results: Take 1 tablespoon or more per day, mixed into foods or blended into smoothies, with intake spread out over the course of the day. For optimal benefits, take about 1 tablespoon per 50 pounds of body weight per day. An adult weighing 150 pounds would take about 3 tablespoons per day, and a child weighing 25 pounds would take about ½ a tablespoon per day. This recommendation applies to all three of the Udo’s Oil 3·6·9 Blend formulas (the original, DHA, and High Lignan).

Udo’s Oil® 3·6·9 Blend should never be used for high-heat cooking such as frying, sauteéing, etc. Instead, use it for salad dressings, add it to smoothies, and mix it into other uncooked foods throughout the day, or mix it into cooked foods after they have been removed from heat sources, such as with soups, grains, pastas, steamed vegetables, etc. Visit our recipes page for our newest Udo’s Oil® recipe ideas.

For Udo’s Oil 3·6·9 Blend in capsule form, take 2 capsules three times a day with meals. Keep out of reach of children. Store in a cool, dry place.
